Eligibility

All active, regular employees and partners scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in the benefits program.

Eligible Dependents

When you enroll yourself in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage, you may also cover your eligible dependents, including:

  • Your legal spouse or qualified domestic partner
  • Children under the age of 26, regardless of student, dependency or marital status
  • Children who are past the age of 26 and are fully dependent on you for support due to a mental or physical disability and who are indicated as such on your federal tax return
  • Children named in a Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO)

Making Changes After Open Enrollment

You can update your benefits at any time during the year if you experience a “Qualifying Life Event (QLE)” as defined by the IRS. A QLE is a significant life change that allows you to enroll in or modify your health insurance plan outside the annual open enrollment period. These events trigger a Special Enrollment Period, giving you the chance to adjust your health insurance coverage to better suit your new circumstances. If you believe you might qualify for a QLE, it’s important to act quickly and reach out to Steptoe’s Benefits Team for more information.
